RootED in Purpose

Why I Launched The RootED Strategy Group

After more than two decades in education—as a teacher, leader, and builder of curriculum and assessment systems—I found myself at a crossroads. Too often, I saw bold visions diluted by competing priorities, and I witnessed how calls for improvement sometimes lost sight of the students themselves. I launched The RootED Strategy Group to change that.

RootED exists to partner with schools, districts, and organizations that are ready to do the deep, meaningful work of transforming education—work that is student-centered, strengths-based, and built for sustainable impact. My mission is simple: to help leaders move from intention to action, with strategies that are research-driven, responsive, and grounded in the real experiences and assets of students and educators.

This work is personal to me. Having experienced the challenges of navigating systems that didn’t always recognize or nurture my potential—as both a student and an educator—I know what’s at stake when education fails to center the people it serves. At RootED, we believe that every child deserves an education that celebrates their strengths, nurtures their growth, and equips them for lifelong success—and that every educator deserves the tools, support, and leadership to bring that vision to life.

Our Approach

At RootED Strategy Group, we believe sustainable educational change starts with clarity, collaboration, and a deep respect for the strengths and potential of every student and educator.

Our approach is more than a methodology—it’s a commitment to helping schools, districts, and organizations create systems that are student-centered, actionable, and built to last.

Student-Centered Design
We begin every project by focusing on what matters most: students. Our strategies are designed to enhance engagement, deepen learning, and ensure every initiative serves students’ real needs.

Strengths-Based Practices
We believe that transformation starts by building on what’s already working. Our approach recognizes and amplifies the assets that students, educators, and systems bring to the table.

Coherence & Alignment
We help partners integrate curriculum, assessment, and data tools into a cohesive framework that drives clarity, consistency, and measurable results.

Practical Partnership
We work side by side with educators and leaders to translate big ideas into real-world action, always adapting to meet the unique needs of each context.

Our work is grounded in the lived experiences of students and educators. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions—instead, we co-create strategies that are meaningful, responsive, and sustainable.
